Overview
As a Cloud Engineer, I've been a key member of a team responsible for migrating a global payment solution from on-premises to Azure Solutions. My role has involved designing and building multiple environments for different use cases using Terraform. I also designed the disaster recovery (DR) solution for our microservices application, ensuring that the application is highly available and fault-tolerant.
Skills
I have become a certified Azure Administrator and am near completing my solution Architect Expert qualification. I have become proficient in Terraform also attaining the certification for it.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility as I have become the IaC SME on the project we are working on.
Support & Guidance
I received a great deal of support from my colleagues that were in the project, especially from my buddy that I was assigned at the start of my placement.
Culture
Very friendly environment, promoting self development and upskilling yourself in the time that you aren't working on any project work.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement!, it was a great opportunity for me exposing me to the world of cloud computing and also giving me the chance to really get stuck into it.
