  • Data collection and presentation to rest of the team. Raising POs, data analysis and presentation to customer. 8D analysis of customer complaints, B2B, root cause analysis, update and develop data collection process.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality of one of the production lines. Responsible for consolidating and presenting the current data to the customer on a daily basis. Responsible for ensuring that Purchase Orders for all jobs get processed on time. Responsible for keeping the B2B system up to date in time in order to not negatively affect the companies ranking.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Two week handover from previous student. Afterwards the was not much support due to the rest of the department being busy. Learnt a lot through trial and error as well as teaching myself. No rigid support system, very individual down to the team around you, your manager and the current situation across the whole plant.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Atmosphere is very unprofessional and casual when customers not involved. Frequent rude, misogynistic and unpleasant jokes/remarks which seems the norm. Need to have a thick skin to cope with the daily banter. However, everyone is kind and supportive and wants to see you unlock your potential during the year.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I very much enjoyed my experience, confirming my desire to pursue a career in the automotive industry. Has been challenging at times however that is what I wanted out of a placement. I feel that I am now in the position that I wanted to be in at the end of the placement.
