    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The placement involved a high level of responsibility with a challenging amount of workload. But if you okay with that then you'll be a good fit for the job. You have to be innovative and easy to work with as you are often working with with people from different disciplines to implement the best solutions for the plant

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a very surprising amount of responsibility during my time here and sometimes felt like too much responsibility was given to me but this made me much more confident and in the long run it aided my personal development and meant I got a lot better in the position i am in.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • To begin with I had little guidance or support as it was a new role for a student placement which meant I was put in the deep end from the start. However this did mean I was put straight into hard work which was beneficial for my development in the role as i was understanding the business operations at quite a fast rate. Later on in the placement as i showed my contribution it seemed more guidance was given.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is tough as is the atmosphere. For a plant striving for continuous improvement everyone is under pressure to do well and this occasionally puts departments against each other and there is sometimes a bit of blame game that occurs. However the tough atmosphere will mould you into a stronger character and skills such as critical thinking and problem solving will be vastly improved. Its extremely fast paced and everyone want something done yesterday

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement and have learnt a lot from my time here and developed massively as a person. I was given a lot of work to complete and felt like I had completed it to very high standard and sometimes form the company I believe a lot of workers including myself didn't get the recognition they deserve and a lot of time the work that they put in is slightly disregarded.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Forvia
  • Be prepared to have a lot of work given to you and a lot of responsibilities. The time here will be very beneficial to your personal development if you are able to handle the workload. You will get out of the placement what you put in and luckily for me i have learnt many lessons from my time here.
