    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Day to day i would complete a variety of tasks for example daily i would complete price and purchase order tracking and processing, one off order processing and liaison with the customer. I was also heavily involved in quoting on new business from the customer which involved cost estimation and justification in addition to direct discussion and conversation with the customer. I would meet the customer to answer question in person and over teams.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Yes overall i have developed existing skills and learnt new skills. The skill i have most developed is my communication skills, through internal and external communication in all forms. For example i would have to answer questions directly to the customer while also leasing internally to ask for activities to be completed. I learnt new skills for example the ability to pick up and explain new concepts quickly and accurately.

  • Yes i was given lots of responsibility. This responsibility had to be asked for and the ability complete the tasks asked for had to be proven, it was not given freely, however i believe this is justified.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was given as much as i asked for. If my performance dipped it was offered, however up to me whether i accepted. Some tasks i was given were very vague and clarification was necessary however this was always given when requested.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The culture was positive and supportive, help was always given when asked for. Socially the team were very genuine and honest and there were a few fun social events throughout the year.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement overall, it was challenging at times, there were also times of inactivity and boredom, however this is due to the nature of the job. Activity depends entirely on how much the customer is asking of us. There were many exciting opportunities and i was treated like a professional.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Forvia
  • This is an automotive company, therefore there will be lots of engineering concepts to learn if you are unfamiliar, even in a sales role. There are many great opportunities within this company and personal growth is highly encouraged. This is a large international company therefore the opportunity for intercultural experience is given, additionally there are many exciting customers to work with.
