    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Getting an insight into the work of the corporate banking team, looking at how they manage corporate customers including their accounts and services. Completing work similar to that required if working full-time in the team. Meeting daily with my manager to catch up and discuss the day ahead - activities and schedule. Over the course of the internship, completing a business project presentation.

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a fair and appropriate level of responsibility. Much of this came from having access to sensitive information and otherwise confidential material, but also from the tasks that I had been given to complete, some of which will form part of the real bank's work.

  • My advice would be to do plenty of research into the group and it's purpose, looking at what the bank expects from it's people. Make sure you highlight who you are as an individual throughout the application process. Take time to understand what team you're going into as well, as there is a lot of choice. Always ask for feedback too.
