    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Collecting and analysing information about customers and potential customers to determine their financial position and how well they are run to see if they are a suitable customer for the bank to work with and provide financial support, i.e. loans, funding, support running the business. Also monitor existing customers' performance to ensure they maintain a good position and offer support if they are not doing well.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learned how to communicate with customers so that they feel comfortable and have a good experience while also getting what you need from them. I have learned this from sitting in meetings and deal forums where I observed experienced team members interact with customers in easygoing and also more difficult meetings. I have also learned how to manage my workload more effectively, I have had to balance multiple projects in a short period of time.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was placed in a specialised team so I wasn't able to be fully trained to do the job as this would've took longer than the 8 weeks of my internship, so I wasn't able to be given sole responsibility however my team made an effort to explain their work as best they could and gave me multiple resources and examples for me to read through. I was given a mini solo project to do to help the team which I was fully responsible for.
