  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Preparing and validating the accuracy of Financial Management Reports, significant involvement in Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, performing ad-hoc investigations and analytical reporting as required, working with a variety of technology, involvement in team-based projects within the DS CoE Finance Team, researching business related variances, (identify variances as manual accounting error or legitimate business movements) and ensuring productive collaboration between the various sub teams within the DS CoE Finance Team

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment, self-assurance to liaise with Pfizer personnel at all levels, the ability to generate creative and innovative ideas and have become really strong/confident at Excel as this is used daily,

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes I was definitely given a lot of responsibility in my placement, I was the single point of contact for four European markets and was responsible for delivering all of these market's financial management reports and communicating with these market's financial teams. I felt really valued in the team.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • A lot of support the entire way through. The team is set up so you always know who your best point of call is if you have a question, and the whole team is really friendly and supportive. There is also a two month hand over period with the leaving undergraduates, so you you have enough time to work with them to get up to speed.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Really good, my team was really friendly and social and had a good blend of in-person/working from home time. The company on the whole was a great place to work and valued their employees, and I was able to take part in many social activities throughout my time at Pfizer. The company values were really strong and motivating.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement, I learnt so much that I know will help me complete the rest of my degree and throughout my future career. The whole team was amazing and I couldn't of ask for a better experience. I would really recommend a placement at Pfizer to everyone!

  • Align yourself with the Pfizer values as much as possible (joy, equity, courage and excellence), for this particular role brush up on your excel skills, be yourself in the interviews as they are also looking for applicants that will fit in the best socially with the team and will be reliable, responsible and proactive.
