I really enjoyed my 13 month placement at Pfizer. I was given a lot of support from my team who were always happy to help me with any issues and was made to feel like a valued member of the team right from the beginning. I was gradually given more responsibility as my placement progressed and my knowledge of the role grew, building up to me doing the same tasks as full time Finance Analysts.
I loved my 12 month placement at Pfizer as I had the opportunity to work in 2 teams, the HR Operations Team and the Talent Acquisition Team, giving me a fully rounded experience of HR in a large corporation. I was responsible for many projects during my placement year including running assessment centres, running the virtual work experience programme and graduate scheme. I feel as though I have developed many transferrable skills during my time at Pfizer which will definitely help me in my future studies and career.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my whole placement year. I enjoyed working in a busy and vibrant office environment where breaks and healthy working is encouraged and opportunities to mix with and learn from a wide range of colleagues is facilitated. After working from home during the second half due to Covid- 19, work has still been enjoyable as there is a broad range of projects to work on and virtual chats allow colleagues to stay connected.
I enjoyed my placement year at Pfizer, and definitely gained a lot of knowledge from being immersed in the analytical research and development department. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, making it a supportive environment to work in. I really enjoyed the work that I was carrying out as I was given the opportunity to get my teeth stuck into some novel work. There were also opportunities to steer your project to suit you and/or your interests.
I loved working at Pfizer. The support I received from colleagues was unreal and the opportunities provided to the undergraduates were unmatched. It helped that there were so many undergraduates (65 in total) so no one was lonely and it was an extremely tight-knit community. I could not have asked for a better placement.
You are provided with sufficient responsibility to feel as if you are doing meaningful work for the company, and the people you interact with are very friendly and hard working. The workplace was modern, with an onsite canteen that offered a variety of food options. The fellow interns you begin to make friendships with because you are all in the same position and it creates a great environment in the workplace where you don't feel left out. The more senior colleagues have time to help you out if you ask for it - though if you don't ask it is unlikely to be forthcoming after the first month as they are usually busy.
I enjoyed the year, but there were definitely aspects I did not like so much. I enjoyed the industry and learning opportunities it provided - I found the work generally interesting and liked how I was able to find a role that had a strong science background but was not based in the lab. The culture of the organisation is fantastic and especially during the COVID-19 period I really got the sense the company truly cares about its employees. However, some of the work was not interesting and was administrative in nature. I did not enjoy these tasks and thought that they provided few learning opportunities. I also felt sometimes as if I was not properly integrated in the team as I was not invited to some whole team meetings and there seemed to be a general divide between interns and the wider team. There were also many key responsibilities of the role I could not do as I was not qualified - I wasn't aware of this before I started which was disappointing.
I have loved my placement at Pfizer! It has been really interesting to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry and the different careers involved. Everyone I met has been very friendly, welcoming and happy to discuss their job role or career journey if I was interested. There have also been many training opportunities for work related skills which have been useful. My manager and colleagues have been supportive whilst still giving me independence and responsibility. Even whilst working from home Pfizer has been a great company to work for, providing free yoga classes etc to encourage us to take breaks and hosting online quizzes to connect with other colleagues.
Really enjoyed working at Pfizer throughout the year from start to finish. The company culture makes you feel very relaxed from the beginning. There is also a large intake of interns each year so there is a great opportunity to make friends across the business. The work I completed felt worthwhile and that it would actually make a difference, as well as being suited to develop my own personal skills. I enjoyed working with all members of my cross functional team.
I have found my placement extremely enjoyable and rewarding. It has enabled me to develop a variety of transferable and desired employment skills, as well as experience the corporate environment first-hand. Flexibility of work hours and working from home has enabled me to see my family more regularly, despite moving hundreds of miles from home which has been a huge bonus. Joining the company at the same time as many other undergraduates has enhanced the experience as it made the office environment more joyful.
Overall I really enjoyed my experience of working at Pfizer. It was a great insight into corporate life as well as the pharmaceutical industry itself. Although challenging at times, I feel that it gave me invaluable experience that I will take with me into further personal and professional endeavours. People: Due to the large scale of the placement scheme this made it very easy to build up a large amount of friendships with fellow undergraduates (Walton Oaks site). This kept the social experience really helped keep moral up throughout the year.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year as an Undergraduate Global Regulatory Strategist with Pfizer. I was placed at the Walton Oaks site which is such a wonderful, modern building which I was really happy to attend every day. The company atmosphere is amazing, everyone is so friendly and supportive and eager to see you succeed. The people that work at Pfizer are truly brilliant and inspiring and it has been a pleasure to learn from them.
I found my placement to be a really enjoyable experience. Having spent 6 months in one department and then 6 months in another, I was given a real overview of what working in a HR department looked like. I was also provided with plenty of variety in my work so that tasks didn't become mundane and I was always learning new skills and processes. I also think that the company did very well to continue to support their undergraduates even when moving to home working during COVID-19 lockdown.
I enjoyed my placement very much. It has given me all of the appropriate experience that I wanted to achieve and more. I have felt that even just being an undergraduate, I have been able to make a difference within the company due to the kind of projects and tasks I carried out when I was there. The placement really opened my eyes to how a real corporate business works and operates and this has allowed me to plan my future career and stir me to areas that I am most interested.
