    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure on top of emails, meetings with my manager to discuss what needs to be done that day, check the approval system to make sure that everything is running on time, meetings with external companies to make sure the marketing materials they are creating are what we have in mind, creating materials for upcoming national meetings, communicate with sales team to see what materials they require for customers, socialise with colleagues!

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learned project management by being asked to lead on a disease awareness campaign. I have developed my confidence by being pushed to lead on different projects and finding that I am doing them successfully. I have developed my presentation skills and have presented results of projects to the UK marketing team. I have developed my time management skills in having to manage several projects and workstreams simultaneously.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was allowed to lead on a few projects and workstreams from early on with the support of my manager if necessary. I was in charge of ensuring compliance and all things necessary were done, and I have been in charge of creating key pieces for important meetings.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My manager has been fantastic. She has understood that coming from University, Pfizer is a very different environment and her support has helped me to feel confident in the role. I have understood that I will not be performing at my best immediately and it can take a few months to know what is going on, but I have felt supported along the way, and never rushed or made to feel stupid

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The general atmosphere has been good, the other undergraduates are lovely and we have all got on really well. Sometimes, I feel like colleagues who have been here longer can be a little patronising, however on the whole I feel appreciated in the work I have done and that I am providing tangible results to the team

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have loved my placement and the team that I have worked with. I did this placement as a way to see what I am interested in as a future career, and I have learned what I do and don't enjoy doing which will be useful moving forwards. At points, I would have liked more to do, but at other points there was too much!

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Pfizer
  • Be yourself, think about what you have done and how you can apply this to the job description. Don't be afraid to apply to multiple positions because one might not be right for you. You won't know what you are doing right away and that is ok, be patient and kind to yourself.
