  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supporting simulation team by developing new algorithms, bug fixing and data generation. Day-to-day involves communicating and brainstorming solutions with team in daily stand-up session. Independently implementing and testing solutions.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • There were instances where I would be responsible for delivering data to an internal customer, and liaising with them directly. Tasks are typically individual due to the nature of the work, so you are responsible for solving and delivering solutions.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • There are education sessions to ensure everyone shares the fundamental knowledge required for problem solving. Teammates are more than happy to provide help wherever needed. Technical Experts exist within the company to provide specialist technical knowledge wherever needed.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very positive. Everyone shares a collective goal to deliver the best product possible in a timely manner. A good sense of camaraderie present in the Seeker division.

  • Having a good base understanding of engineering principles is invaluable. This not only includes the mathematical and science skills, but also the supporting methodologies that businesses follow. A willingness to learn new skills and adapt positively to challenges is recommended.
