Overview
Day-to-day I do lots of work with other departments such as setting up new products and creating cloaking and OSG reports. A large part of my role is monthly reporting which is consolidating data of the P&L into flat files which I can then submit to the HQ. Leading up to month-end, I have to organise and prepare all the files to be easily used during the process.
Skills
-Excel skills- general use of Excel such as using formulas, macros, pivot tables, producing reports, interpreting datasets, and also summarising datasets. -Organisation- in order for month-end to run smoothly, organisation is key and preparation has to start a week in advance to ensure all systems are up to date and ready. Prioritising tasks by importance. -Teamwork- three of us in the team so we have to juggle tasks in line with requirements and help each other.
Responsibilities
Yes, I feel that I have been given lots of responsibility during my placement as I am mostly in charge of the month-end process which gets submitted to the HQ. I have also been given more responsibility as the placement has gone on due to me being familiar with the systems. Sovereign brand setup and Daily Volumes automation.
Support & Guidance
I have always had good support from the team and wider team in my work. They have been ready whenever I have needed them and always given good advice and help. I can attribute a lot of my progression to the team as they always take the time to explain and go through things.
Culture
A very good and vibrant culture within the company. People always say hello when they pass and are very friendly. Active effort by the company to ensure that the employees are well and lots of convivial moments to ensure everyone gets to socialise.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed the placement and feel I have learned lots during the year to aid my future career opportunities.
Yes
Be yourself in the application process and have an open mind during your role as there is lots of opportunity to move around the business. Do your research before the interview.
