Overview
Most days there were regular talks on each division of the bank and case studies related to the division. We were given some time during the day to work on our M&A project although most of it was done after the actual spring week timings.
Skills
Presentation as we presented two case studies as a group in front of the spring cohort and a panel of bankers. Teamwork and time management as when completing the project briefing, I had to make sure I managed my time and communicated with my team on our joint availability to work on the M&A case study.
Business Insight
I was able to understand the business and roles within the business quite well because after each talk on a business division, the speakers were very open to ask any questions we had and clear any confusions we may have had about the business.
Culture
It was very friendly and open with the whole team, be it senior bankers, junior bankers and the HR team. Everyone was very willing to answer any of our questions.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the insight to a large extent as there was a good balance of talks, Q&A panels and case study work.
Yes
I would say to make sure you understand the company in terms of its culture history and business divisions. You must know why you want to work for the firm.
