Overview
We were able to discover the different divisions within the Global Advisory department: M&A, debt advisory, equity advisory the new small mid cap team of Rothschild & Co and to understand more in depth their different missions on a daily basis. We also had a very interesting training on the basics of investment banking and a lot of workshops to reinforce our hard and soft skills in this regard.
Skills
Yes, sure. We had a very interesting training on the basics of investment banking and we learned more about the different valuation methods, how to finance an acquisition, a merger, some important definition about the WAAC, equity return... We also learned the Investment Banking Codes, how to introduce ourselves, to learn how to speak in public, how to present slides and investment or merger opportunities while working in a group
Business Insight
During the week-long programme, we had the opportunity to experience the working environment by spending time shadowing bankers from a selection of teams, as well as taking part in informative skills sessions, presentations and networking with bankers of all levels.
Culture
I felt a lot of kindness and encouragement from the organizers but also from the juries during the interviews. I was impressed by the enthusiasm of the youth teams and especially by their availability to answer all our questions. The people with whom I was able to network also showed a lot of honesty towards me by explaining both the positive and negative points of the job which was very helpful and respectable. The teams at Rothschild & Co are teams where transparency and honesty prevail. A studious atmosphere where excellence and performance reign, and at the same time a very friendly atmosphere with smiling and helpful teams
