    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Every day differs, but every week I need to input data from partners and manipulate it in order for it to filter into our data warehouse. This data then feeds into various forecasting documents that are used for budget predictions. Helps us see daily/weekly and monthly sales. Also do monthly analysis presentations on Film Bundles performances. Regular weekly reporting identifying key titles.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Yes, I have, I have learnt how to code using SQL and Python. I have also learned how to use various Microsoft applications such as Power BI, more advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills. I have also developed my public speaking skills through monthly presentations.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes I was, I was in charge of all premium transactions and informing various stakeholders of the relevant data updates. This was very important as these are a new addition to transactions and in various territories. I was in charge of the analysis of film bundle performances every month, where I presented this information to different teams in the company. I was trusted by my team to help validate new processes and look for any data issues or inconsistencies.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was given plenty of guidance from my whole team. We have a small team of 6/7 people, which helps create an intimate environment and atmosphere for me as an intern. This meant that I had unlimited support from everyone. I also had a three-week handover with the previous intern where he guided me and taught me everything that he had learnt and the jobs that I was going to be doing.
