    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I assist with internal communications, social media and publicity campaigns for Universal International Studios. This involves daily media monitoring of show coverage and industry news, and creating coverage reports to circulate to senior executives following campaigns. I manage the logistics of internal and external events, including press screenings, premieres and festivals. I also assist in managing the studio's social media profiles, brainstorming engaging posts and writing copy for their captions.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed both written and verbal communications skills, especially through copywriting and liaising with external suppliers to organise events. I have also learned a variety of valuable PR skills, from media monitoring, press outreach to creating briefing documents. My digital literacy has also greatly improved through my day-to-day use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and other digital platforms.

  • I have been entrusted with multiple responsibilities throughout my internship. I had the opportunity to individually manage travel, accommodation, hair and make-up for talent and executives for the studio's key markets and festivals. I also supported the logistics of a show premiere, liaising with suppliers to organise red carpets and lighting. I have also been entrusted with creating and circulating coverage reports to senior executives prior and following show launches.

I also have access to LinkedIn Learning, a platform with useful professional courses.
