    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The role is centered in providing the best support and resources for our CGA colleagues in markets by acting as a conduit between Global LT and LOCs. This involves a wide array of tasks including reporting on government updates and monthly metrics, curating best practice sessions and capability programmes, and sharing guidance on activity.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • From this role, I have developed networking skills, agility in changing and often confrontational environments, and confidence in presenting and sharing input.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Levels of responsibility were project dependent. With projects concerning Government Affairs or impacting a high number of markets, I played more of a supporting role, but for more internal facing projects I was able to lead. There were also periods of time where, given changes in the team, I took on more responsibility in day to day duties and was encouraged to continue with these even after returning to 'business as usual'.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was
  • 4/5

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The level of support I received wasn't particularly consistent - but this was due to unforeseen circumstances. Through the function community, ERGs and the mentoring scheme, I was able to source support from other areas in times where my managers were unavailable for sustained periods. I had to independently source this.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from your line manager?
  • 4/5

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?
  • 1/5

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone is happy to talk with you and for you to learn from them, even across high levels of seniority. ERGs work tirelessly to create an accessible and encouraging environment which colleagues definitely benefit from. Given the structure of my team, global and across multiple continents, I didn't always feel this from my direct teams, but the colleagues in the office alleviated this.
