Overview
My role was to support the other analysts across a range of M&A and debt deals. I was on four live projects and also complete ad-hoc work. Daily responsibilities varied depending on the type of deal and stage in the process, such as creating slides for IMs, working with data in Excel, researching investors and competitors and carrying out admin tasks to support the process management of the projects.
Skills
I have improved my PowerPoint and Excel skills significantly, such as the different short cuts. In addition, I have greatly expanded my financial knowledge, especially when working on comps. The training at the beginning was also useful for learning the basics of accounting and valuation.
Responsibilities
As an intern I was provided with an unparalleled level of responsibility, in the type of work carried out and in interactions with clients.
Support & Guidance
The team was very helpful in answering any question I had, which facilitated my learning. The mid-internship review was also useful in directing me in the right direction.
Culture
The team was very friendly, open and positive in all my interactions, which made me feel very comfortable to ask questions and learn as much as possible.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the whole experience, I felt like a part of the team and experienced an unmatched learning curve. In addition, all the intern events organized by HR or team socials were also a great opportunity to network and have fun.

The most important advice is to do your research, be honest, genuine and understand why you are applying to Rothschild & Co. It is important to show your willingness to learn and passion for the industry.
