    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a part of both rotations - networking is key to get up to speed on the product and the market that it operates in. Once you are up to speed here there is plenty of opportunity to work on live deals and to even contribute to client interactions.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Soft skills have developed significantly from the insight into the city - in particular communication and networking. I have also developed my technical skills significantly being exposed to financial analysis and the origination as well as complete deal processes/structures.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • This summer has been extremely enjoyable - Providing an experience I'll never forget. Coming out of COVID-19 I initially was nervous and worried about working in an office - especially within this industry but the support and time given by colleagues was not what I expected at all!

  • It’s normal to get nervous applying to internships but I think most people perform best when they can remain calm. To do this I’d recommend reading the role requirements in depth and doing as much research and preparation as you can, then as you progress through the application process you will be able to be genuine and comfortable.
