The Role
Really enjoyed the responsibility I was given as I wasn't expecting to be trusted to do the tasks I was given being an intern. I have constantly been challenged which has been daunting but has provided me with fantastic experience.
I grew really close to certain members in my team, I got on really well with my manager and his PA and felt very valued and an important member of the team.
I was supported by my manager when I needed to be, but mostly I have had to work things out for myself. I feel I have become more decisive and able to make decisions myself rather than taking orders.
At times I have been extremely busy, other times I have been average. Overall I think the work loads was enough to push me.
More responsibility that I imgined. I organised events, ran a charity project from end to end single handedly and also helped to maintain the database we use for forecasting figures.
I have definitely grown as a person since doing this placement. I have gained interpersonal skills needed to get me a sales job in later life, learned the inner workings of a big business and how to get on with a team. My time management skills have improved drastically with having to juggle work.
The Company
The atmosphere fluctuated, from Jubilee parties with cupcakes to charity events such as taking part in Zumba in the canteen. It is a corporate environment with customers visiting so things can't ever get too out of hand.
The intern handover for a month was very helpful as I learned many skills during the first month. I then felt confident enough to tackle everyday problems on my own, and managed to network with people to know who I needed to get in touch with to get solutions to questions.
As it is such a big company most of the training is online. The previous intern trained me up for a whole month, then afterwards I kept up to date with training through programmes online.

I will apply for a graduate job at HP. It is very competitive but I would love to come back here!
The Culture
We had a fantastic intern community who took part in bar crawls, balls and organised days out at the weekend.
My rent and bills came to half of my wage, there wasn't much left for travel and partying!
Reading is good for a night out.
I joined a badminton club and was a part of the intern community, so I had things to do outside work.
