Overview
My day to day tasks included assisting in reviewing financial statements and reconciling amounts to ensure that everything was in order. I helped my Engagement team with whatever I could and prepared many documents to assist in the audit process.
Skills
I've learnt how to use the Aura software which PwC uses for Audit and I have learnt how to interact efficiently with colleagues and maintain a good balance between work and socialising with others in the office. I've learnt to not be afraid to ask for help and that it is better to ask than struggle alone.
Responsibilities
I interacted with the client on client calls and was given tasks which were essential for the completion of the audit which I managed to complete mostly independently once shown how to carry them out.
Support & Guidance
I received an incredible amount of support from my engagement team and was constantly assured and never felt embarrassed asking questions. My team made me feel really welcome and I instantly got on with all of them. There was an office social that I went to prior to working with my team which I think definitely helped in building relationships in a more casual environment.
Culture
Everyone in the office was very friendly and welcoming and made me feel comfortable and included. It was clear that people were genuinely friends with their colleagues which was nice to see as it makes the work experience much more enjoyable.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my time at PwC - I wish I could stay longer!
Yes
Try not to overthink the application process - it can be daunting but everyone is super helpful! Just make sure you have researched the company prior to the assessment centre and interview as they do ask about your knowledge! As for the office, get involved with whatever you can as this really helped me in building relationships and I would say I am leaving PwC with colleagues who I would consider friends!
