    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Responsible for coordinating changes to the pack range using SAP and other systems. Building relationships with markets and liaising with lots of departments across the site on a daily basis. Championing key processes such as discontinuations and scrapping of components. Day to day running and presenting at meetings, keeping metrics up to date for the team.

  • This year I have expanded on skills such as communication, teamwork and presentation skills. I have also developed new skills including Excel and PowerBI. This role involves strong attention to detail and time management skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • My first few months involved intense training but after that I was able to work on my own projects. For the most part I was given lots of responsibility but my team were always there to help me when I required it.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The general atmosphere of the site was great, lots of events and activities to be a part of outside of your day to day role. You have the opportunity to be a part of IP Unite where you can participate in sports, social, development and charitable events which are great fun.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement year at GSK as I was able to develop lots of skills and it was a great introduction into a professional working environment. My manager and team were very supportive. I was able to manage my own projects and the company are very keen for you to take lots of development opportunities and network which I liked. I would certainly go back to work at GSK.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to GSK
  • When applying for GSK make sure that the company values really align with your own. Do your research into what role would be most suited to you and ensure to prepare lots for the application process as it is competitive. My main piece of advice is to be yourself in interviews and on assessment center day.
