    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • placement has not only helped me to develop my technical and business knowledge, but also allowed me to understand more what career path I would want to pursue in the future. I have constantly been working on the goals for my personal growth. I have asked for individual feedback to colleagues I have worked with throughout the year. Their responses were very positive and they included important tips which have helped me to develop further. Thus, I compiled the information and created a milestone plan with my manager to clearly see how I could improve these through the rest of the year.I also started to work on things outside by comfort zone. I was able to attend a finance course where I had no previous background on, and I enjoyed it so much I decided to deepen my knowledge by listening to an economy podcast and read more about this topic. As planned, I have continued to work on my Technical and commercial knowledge, asking questions, revising my notes, attending calls, and completing modules of the supply chain certification - which I am currently pursuing. I’ve tried to grasp any work given as a learning opportunity. Not only has GSK given me the chance to learn from several webinars, courses and platforms, but also has allowed me to meet incredible people from who I’ve been able to learn so much from, influencing me in the way I see myself in the future

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Consumer Healthcare’s New Company, Haleon, is going to become the biggest Healthcare Company in the world, with leading brands such as Sensodyne or Panadol. This is exciting times for employees as they slowly discover the new identity of this company. The new culture: go beyond, do what matters most & keep it human shows how the new company wants to become more agile, competitive and improve their visibility End to End to subsequently beat companies such as Unilever or P&G.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • placement has showed me the importance of self-reflection. By taking the time to write and think back to what I have been doing throughout the year, I’ve been able to realise what I have enjoyed the most, and in what direction I want to focus my career path after I graduate. As an Engineering Management Student, this placement has allowed me to combine skills from both disciplines and to expand my knowledge in both areas. I’m interested in learning more about supply chain and how it impacts the overall production process of the company. Moreover, I would like to become a project lead, where I’m able to challenge myself and to expand my knowledge across business, working with colleagues from different functions. Working for a multinational company has also inspired me to travel and to learn from colleagues based in different countries. Placement has therefore reinforced my interest in engineering and business and has motivated me to research these areas in my dissertation next year.
