    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Lots of responsibility, you are not treated at all like a placement student you are given the same level of responsibility as any other Vodafone employee. There are certain areas that you will need to run completely independently and will be required to find additional tasks on quieter days.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have weekly catch-ups with my line manager where I would openly share any concerns / request any guidance around the role. The team I worked in was really small, only myself and my line manager therefore I tended to gain further support from colleagues outside of my immediate team. There is a buddy programme at Vodafone that you are provided with at the start of the year which can be very useful.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Culture at Vodafone is one of the greatest benefits - there is a vast youth community meaning there are always people to turn to who are experiencing similar things. There are frequent youth activities that are put on to attend including balls, drinks and dinners. Women in Business is also a big initiative with lots of talks to get involved in. You are also given 5 volunteering days each year to give back to the local community.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I am hoping to return on the grad scheme and I think that is a clear indicator as to the level of enjoyment I have gotten out of my year at Vodafone. The company culture and its core values strongly align with my own and I feel it is a really great company to begin your career at as you are exposed to a wide range of opportunities. My year at Vodafone has exceeded my expectations largely down to the level of responsibility that you are give, especially with still being a university student. I could not recommend Vodafone enough.

  • Researching Vodafone and the interesting things that they are doing at the moment eg looking at their latest investment and success areas. Understanding Vodafone's purpose pillars as they are the core to everything that Vodafone does. Looking into the additional areas that Vodafone is passionate about for example culture and inclusion.
