Working at Vodafone was a great experience and I'm grateful that I chose to do a placement year and would recommend one to anyone! I applied for the Finance Industrial Placement and was placed in a team in the Paddington office. I had the pleasure of working in the office for the first 7 months of my placement before moving to permanently working from home due to the pandemic. Despite moving to online my placement experience remained fantastic and the company was great at ensuring we are kept informed and feel supported.
Simply put it was a pathway into the world of telecommunication. I enjoyed it very much; the company's approach to their marketing strategies and their ambition to be the leading wireless communication enterprise really opened my eyes to this industry. The potential found in future communication is huge and I'm glad I chose this route. The experience I gained and my time with Vodafone has helped me realize that I want to be a part of this growing sector which has great potential for the future.
I really love working this half year for Vodafone Group in London in the middle of beautiful Paddington. I am doing my Internship in the Learning & Development department and I love to get involved in different tasks I can own myself after some time and get own projects, where I am able to apply my studies and be creative about the topics I am handling. The international atmosphere is awesome and an amazing experience and school for every student.
8/10 - I'm enjoyed very much my intership in marketing - Brand & Marcomms in terms of new skills adquired, knowlegde gained in a new field, know how to performe in the bussiness world, relashionships and network developed, learning to work under pressure and deliver work in short time, absorve helders experiences and knowledge and test + improve my self every single day .
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Vodafone. My line manager was extremely supportive, I was given a buddy to support me with any issues and I was given exposure to a wide variety of different work. Part of my internship was PMO work, which I enjoyed as it gave me a good overview of all the projects within the team, although it was challenging to keep on top of everyone and make sure that they updated their reports etc. Overall I don't think this is a role I'm suited to, but it was good experience nonetheless. I enjoyed being in a team that was working on transformation for different parts of the business around the world, and it was very interesting to get exposure to how different countries operate. I was even given the opportunity to go to Budapest for a workshop, which was very exciting.
I enjoyed my placement very much. It was a great start to my career and gave me the foundation necessary for success working in a competitive and innovative organisation. I did languages at university and the fact that I was working within an international organisation, with people from across the globe, made each day very interesting and useful for my development.
