    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • The amount and level of responsibility increased continuously throughout the placement. It started with projects that was relevant to my interests and progresses as my knowledge in the role developed. Projects became more challenging, demanding and analytical, and required greater medical/scientific and strategic knowledge of the drug and therapy area. I went from just shadowing projects, to leading and supporting various projects including some which were very demanding but very impactful.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Overall, I really enjoyed the placement. I went into the placement having previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry so I knew what it would be like, however it might not be for everyone. The two standout aspects of the placement for me was my boss and colleagues being amazing - helpful, kind, and brilliant to work with, and the level of responsibility I was given including the opportunity to lead very large and important projects.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Johnson & Johnson
  • The assessment center will include an interview, group task, individual analysis and individual presentation (that you can prepare in advance). You need to be keen and knowledgeable about the industry and about J&J (to a reasonable extent). To make the most of the interview process and eventually the placement, you need to be genuinely interested and passionate about working in the medical industry.
