Overview
My role involved performing tasks assigned by Senior Associates or Managers on different client interactions. Tasks included reviewing financial statements and testing client transactions. Additionally the interns were assigned a project with a Social Enterprise. The tasks included meeting the representatives of the Social enterprise and providing solutions to their current problems.
Skills
Skills developed: - Team-work; - Technical skills ( specifically the use of Microsoft excel and word); - Presentation and Communication skills. Skills learned: - Knowledge of the Audit processes ( due to the extensive training); - Time management.
Responsibilities
Despite the shortage of work, due to the internship occurring in the summer. I was performing tasks on real clients and was able to actually contribute towards the progress of the various projects.
Support & Guidance
Support was vast from various sources including management, fellow summer interns, career coach and buddy.
Culture
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The interns were treated as part of the team.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it greatly. The training was intense however quite interesting and enjoyable. I was able to have real impact on the projects I was assigned to and the support was always there when needed.
Yes
Do as much research as possible about the firm. This really differentiates the good candidates from the best candidates in the recruitment process.
