  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

    • Day to day I had team calls with updates on projects as well as some meetings as well as tasks such as writing minutes, conducting research analysis and working on my presentation. I was looking into value exchange as well as the future role of transactions and payments.

    • I developed some hard skills such as excel proficiency, presentation visuals and delivery and research analysis as well as communication, teamwork and organisation.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

    • Yes - I was able to conduct an 8 week project with another intern which gave us a lot of independence and responsibility. I was also responsible for taking notes in meetings as well as helping with other projects and its numerical analysis.

    • In addition to training, I had lots of support, such as a line manager (as well as 4 others in my team) with weekly meetings, a mentor as well as a buddy (graduate).

    • It was very supportive and encouraging, even under online conditions. People were very keen to work together, help one another and conduct their projects, and there was a good acknowledgment of a healthy work-life balance.
