The virtual experience was really fun to be apart of and I would say that it really helps people new to Accountancy and Banking because it allows them to know more about it and knowing more about it means that it helps them build their path up to Accountancy/Banking. In the virtual experience, we talked about the different stages to get up to Accountancy and Banking and we also got to talk to some of the people who worked in Barclays Accountant and Banking, and they told us their path and the different courses they chose. We also got to ask questions at the end too.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Barclays. I couldn't fault it. The culture and attitude of colleagues working there was welcoming and I felt supported at all times. Colleagues of all levels were more than happy to make time for me. The working hours were good and expectations more than reasonable. I also found that HR had organised an extensive number of insight or educational events for the interns to attend which made the experience very productive.
It was a bit difficult to adjust straight from the beginning to the working life at Barclays since the internship was virtual, but everyone was so supportive and immediately figured out a way to keep me involved. My manager offered me a great framework and a way to conduct my activities without feeling lost, offered just the right degree of support and everyone was so open to network and share their experiences virtually with us.
The internship provided almost limitless possibilities to hear from interesting speakers and arrange our own meetings with anyone from recent graduates to managing directors. There were a number of fun interactive sessions scattered throughout to keep you from getting bogged down with work and allow you to network more with peers. The role provided me with new learning experiences that wouldn't have been possible at university. To achieve 10 stars I would have liked to be able to get some face-to-face with Barclays staff and see the office but of course this was only limited by Covid circumstances.
I really enjoyed my internship at Barclays all be it virtually and it being held over 6 weeks rather than 9 weeks. The project that we undertook was both challenging and rewarding and really pushed me to my limits. I have also had the chance to meet some amazing people throughout my time at Barclays from my line manager to contacts in India. Everyone at the company has been exceptional and has motivated me work as hard as I can to achieve the best results.
Despite a couple of tech issues I really enjoyed my time at Barclays working from home. I feel Barclays did a really good job in setting up the system allowing us to work as if we were in the office. Despite a couple of IT issues which I am sure will be fixed in the future I am very grateful for this experience. It was the first time working in a corporate world and I have learnt so much!
I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual experience. It was incredibly insightful in both enhancing my knowledge of the division but also the other business areas within Barclays. It was an enriching experience where I learnt more about my division, my team as well as other areas of the bank. Barclays made a great effort to get the interns as involved as possible in as many events, so we as interns feel welcomed into a new organisation.
I have really enjoyed my internship at Barclays, It was a very positive and rewarding experience. I was working with a great team where everyone was very positive and encouraging. I enjoyed speaking and networking to lots of different people hearing about their career journey. I also really liked the inclusive and friendly environment of Barclays. Overall it was the most incredible work experience I have ever partaken in and it's an internship that I would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed the virtual internship, overall a valuable and enriching experience where I learnt a lot not only about the bank but a variety of networks, gaining skills that will aid me outside of the internship and later on in my career. You get a feel that everyone is encouraged to be who they are, there is a big stress on well-being and flexibility and you really get a lot of interaction with your team and senior management. Despite being a virtual internship we were made to feel included and have plenty of opportunity to connect with others.
the placement was very enjoyable. the challenges faced due to the COVID restrictions were handled really well, and I still got a really interesting and valuable experience. the work was engaging and covered various areas, and was interesting throughout. the early careers team held lots of networking events so there was still a social element despite being stuck in my spare room! opportunities to listen to Barclays president and hear from US grads and interns wouldn't have ben possible if the placement happened in the usual way. overall a very insightful and enjoyable look into how Barclays operates.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship within anti Money Laundering Operations in Barclays. While it was virtual due to corona virus this did not hinder my ability to progress and enjoy my time there even though it was shorter than the original timescale. I believe it has helped significantly with my personal and professional development through the careful consideration of the human resources team placing us in areas more suited to our skills and potential development.
I really enjoyed my virtual internship despite a few tech struggles in the very beginning. I liked that we did not focus only on our team activities and the Early Careers team organised a wide range of events which allowed me to meet people from other teams and to find more about how the bank operates. I also feel that I am more confident in reaching out to people thanks to the virtual internship. However, as we have not been in an office, it can be quite difficult sometimes if you want to shadow someone from a different team.
I really enjoyed my summer internship here at Barclays; everyone I met was extremely positive, helpful and provided insightful advice with regards to their role and experience here. The daily morning catch ups with the team, which involved informal discussions with the team added a personal touch to the experience and was a reassurance of how friendly everyone is. Everyone I reached out to was more than willing to meet with me and some even connected with me via LinkedIn.
The 6 week experience was a really enjoyable and rewarding experience. The whole 6 weeks was packed full with events put on for us interns such as training and insight events, but at the same time we had the time to work with our assigned teams on a real life project to get a greater understanding and learn about working at the Bank. We also had the chance to meet with and speak to various senior colleagues to gain valuable insight from them.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the internship got shortened from 9 weeks to 5 weeks instead. However, the HR team worked really hard to ensure that all interns got the experience they expected to have. And that was the case for me. I had the opportunity to work on a real project that is going to go into production and used by multiple teams within Barclays. The project was altered so that it could be doable within the 5 weeks of the internship. Overall, I really enjoyed the internship since I got to contribute to my team and I learnt new technologies.
