The Role
It was, quite honestly, one of the most enjoyable experiences. The organizers, the participants and the general atmosphere of the Spring Insight Programme is very positive and friendly.
Starting from a position of some understandable inhibition on the first day, one gets remarkably friendly with others as the week progresses.
The hours of planning that goes into the organization of these programmes is apparent from the first event of the week. Every potential concern is taken care of, quite smoothly.
Unavoidably, one tends to get busier towards the middle of the week, when the programme is in full swing (there's another reason for the busy schedule towards the middle, but it's a surprise!). But the build-up is gradual and you don't tend to pull your hair out.
It is unreasonable to expect the firm to give one a lot of responsibility if one is there for 5 days only. But, surprisingly, we were given more responsibility than I expected of a one-week programme.
It is one of the best skills-development exercise, not just for a career in finance, but in any sphere of life.
The Company
The programme was fun-filled from the start to the end. The programme organizers and the staff of the firm are some of the most 'chilled-out' people you'll ever encounter.
Everything was organized perfectly well; I never felt that I didn't know what was happening.
The massive differential you encounter in your skill-set and knowledge base pre and post the Spring Insight is shocking and a reflection of the extent to which Morgan Stanley invests in you.

Company Parties/Events
I certainly hope that the prospects remain appealing; not really in my hands.
The Culture
It was a magnificent opportunity to network with the fellow participants and staff members; both sets of people are some of the most friendly you'll find!
Unfortunately, I didn't live in the immediately vicinity of the office. But, judging from what I heard about the area from the lucky people who did, it was really good; as cheap as you could expect from Canary Wharf.
It is amazing. You're taken to a dinner on one of the days (it, indeed, is remarkable how much they managed to fit in 5 days) and you get a fair idea of the night-life. Pubs, karaoke, restaurants and so on; I'm happy!
Given that this is just 5 days, I'm not sure you would want to get involved in activities outside work. But, just in case you want to, there are opportunities. Again, I'm not the best person to judge how many these were.
