    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Basically, the job involves the preparation of multiple PPT presentations, which vary depending on the type of deal your are involved in. In order to prepare these PPT presentations, you typically need to use Excel to create tables and graphs needed for the presentation.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Yes, apart from expanding my financial knowledge, I have improved my PPT and Excel skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • It depended on the project. Obviously, being an intern, it is difficult to be given much responsibility. However, you receive a lot of work to do and sometimes that work entails a good level of responsibility.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was
  • 4/5

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received support and guidance from different people with whom I had the opportunity to work. It would have been interesting to get guidance from different peers on how to cope with such demanding job, on how to organize yourself so that you still can get some time to exercise, see your family, friends, etc.

  • 4/5

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • There is a good atmosphere. Almost everyone is gentle and kind. However, I believe that some coworkers are sometimes not aware of how hard this job can be for someone who is beginning. They might forget that yesterday you went to bed very late and might expect you to be the next day with the same energy and that is not always the case.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed the scope of the work I did and the place in which I did it. The tough part of the internship were those weeks where you finished working very late one day after another. There is not much problem in finishing late one day or two days, but the problem comes when you finish late every single day in the week and donĀ“t have time to do anything else.

  • 7. Would you recommend Citi to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Citi
  • They should know they would be working in a top company in terms of the kind of deals in which the bank is involved. At the same time, being in such a place, comes with long working hours (even more that you can imagine). This is sometimes hard to deal with, because it involves no doing much during the week, apart from working.
