  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Morgan Stanley and would love the oppertunity to come back and work here full time. I feel I have learnt a lot and have become a competent employee.

  • At the begining there didnt seem to be a set plan for my internship. I had to organise training on my own back. However, the team was more than happy to make time for me and help me get trained up.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My placement started off slow and I had to persuade the managers to give me the tasks I wanted to do. However, once I managed to get the day to day I wanted I was treated like any other member within the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are a number of life skills that I have developed during my placement which will benefit me going forward. Such as presentation skills, time managment & attention to detail.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The work atmosphere was great, very relaxed and friendly. However, every one worked hard and ensured the work was done to the highest standard.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • HR did an amazing job setting up the placement the training and events at the begining were really beneficial and enjoyable. I do feel the managers in my team could of come up with a better training structure at the start of my placement.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were plenty of oppertunities to get training within the firm. We were encouraged to take part in a range of courses that Morgan Stanley provides and pays for.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Drinks after work with the team every friday and the IPs would always get together on the weekend.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The wharf has a lot of great bars. However, you have to go into the city for the best nights.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I volunteer for an hour a week at a local school teaching a 9 year old girl maths. I find this really enjoyable and have taken pride in watching her become a more competent mathematician.
