I have developed my existing communication and planning skills. Working from home during the coronavirus pandemic allowed me to develop my online communication skills. As a regulatory strategist, you have to be very analytical and precise in planning submissions and recognising problems early on so they can be quickly and effectively solved and during my placement year I have gained analytical and problem solving skills. I've also gained confidence this year.
Yes. The level of responsibility you are given increases during your placement as you complete your training and develop your skills. You are given real and important responsibilities.
Everyone at Pfizer was so friendly and willing to help. If I had any issues there were multiple people I could go to for help and I would always get the support I needed. Furthermore, Pfizer as a company has great procedures in place to ensure you are well supported and looked after.
The inclusive and positive company culture at Pfizer was something I was really impressed by during my placement year. Pfizer have numerous schemes, workshops and initiatives in place to ensure equity and diversity within the company. Pfizer values are excellence, courage, equity and joy and I really feel that these values accurately describe the company culture.
I really enjoyed my placement with Pfizer as it allowed me to develop both professionally and personally and gave me a great insight into regulatory affairs and the pharmaceutical company as a whole. Even though I was working from home throughout the entirety of the placement I was still given the same level of responsibility and had opportunities to network virtually.
