    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The key employability skill I have developed has been leadership. As part of my placement, I have been given a number of significant responsibilities including monthly share reporting. I conducted a monthly share analysis of the brand and category performance. I have also developed my teamwork skills, proactively reaching out to the cross-functional team to integrate their additional knowledge and insight on performance into my commentary to ensure the reports were comprehensive.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a significant amount of responsibility as part of my placement including managing online partnerships worth over $1M and working to deliver a holistic plan across all touchpoints in Q4 2020 and have since shaped our 2021 plans and led this initiative for 2022. My first big responsibility was shaping a cross-brand activation. I led an integrated comms plan across 3 brands and then tracked sales and analysed performance of the initiative presenting this to the marketing department. I have since continued to develop our 2022 plans leading our initiative planning including size of prize calculation and presentation to the senior leadership team, and then taking the initiative to our sales teams to get them excited about taking this to retailers. My second big responsibility was leading our 2021 online partnerships. This involved proactively planning and optimising content including emails, display banners and bespoke content such as vlogs and podcasts to deliver against KPIs. I proactively planned all of this content to align with our in-store activation plans and other media communications to ensure a fully integrated plan was delivered across touchpoints. I then regularly tracked performance, against benchmarks. I managed our relationships with external agencies to bring these partnerships to life. This is a significant responsibility as these are some of our highest driving ROI plans and involve managing one of our largest media budgets.
