    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My main project was to look into the HTB:ISA customer who have a low/zero balance, then to think of ways to encourage these customers to save more. I conducted research and had numerous call with different stakeholders

  • Networking skills have certainly been developed. I have also improved my presentation creation skills. I have also learnt a lot about well being and 'bringing your whole self to work'.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Slightly. I have not been told whether the work I have done will actually be implemented when I leave the internship. I have also not had any interactions with customers as I have been in a back office role.

  • Lots, especially from my team. My managers are always open to helping me with any queries. Also, people outside of my team have seemed to be open to helping when needed.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very positive and a slight surprise to be honest. I expected a role in Banking to be quite cold and serious, however everyone I have met has been very welcoming and generally up for a laugh when suitable.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement and the team I was put in. The only thing slightly holding me back was the role I was placed in as I expected it to me more wealth related.

  • Try to stand out as much as possible and make the most of the opportunity, as then you will get the most out of it. Speak to as many people as possible as you can learn a lot from others experiences.
