  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Range of presentations, across all asset classes, from senior members of the company. Morning team meetings. Series of projects to work through. All surrounding data retrieval and storing.


  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Attention to detail: work is very tedious and any small mistake is very visible. Communication skills: it is up to you to ask for work, arrange meetings and get any information you need. Excel: All work is based on excel. Thrown into the deep end and forced to learn this new skill.

  • Given many projects to deal with myself. It is your own responsibility to locate resources, ask for help and create structure to your day. It was made clear how my work was contributing to the grand scale of operations.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Plenty. Daily catchups with managers followed by longer weekly meetings. Fortnightly catchups with HR. A very friendly culture at M&G - you are able to ask anyone for support.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Incredibly friendly. Senior members treat you as valued colleges and are always open to answering any questions. Very social atmosphere also. Fortnightly socials with interns. Teams got together to arrange their own socials. Volunteering is mandatory as part of the internship. Plenty of organisations from coding club to yoga or cultural awareness to like like minded people within the company.

  • I have loved this internship. I am very grateful to of been able to have this experience. It has been completely virtual which is a shame but M&G have done their best to mitigate those circumstances.
