Overview
Prime Brokerage Client Coverage, speaking to Hedge Fund clients who use Morgan Stanley as a Prime Broker.
Skills
Communication - both written and verbal. Technical Knowledge - how the business works. Analytical - Excel analysis of performance or market share figures.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was surprised at how soon I was allowed to speak to clients. You are given as much responsibility as you are willing to take on and there is the opportunity to contribute to some of the larger accounts too.
Support & Guidance
Everyone was extremely helpful, every time I have needed help or something explaining my team were always willing to sit down with me and go through it.
Culture
The company culture is the reason I want to come back to Morgan Stanley. You are always encouraged to ask questions or pursue other areas which may interest you and the culture seems inclusive.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my year, despite working virtually for 6 months. I think that my professional skills have developed signfiicantly. When looking back at how much I have learnt I am so glad that I took this opportunity. It is a great environment to learn in and I was very grateful to start my carear as part of such a well organised placement programme.

Spend time on your application, make sure that you are applying for the right reasons and you have a genuine interest in the area you are looking at. If you get the opportunity to join Morgan Stanley than ask as many questions as possible when you first start.
