PR Assistant Review

Assisted with building up brand awareness for a variety of different business clients including Fabulosa, Horlicks, Solution Fires and Kanula. On a day-to-day basis, I was undertaking campaign research, blog writing, media list development and admin work, which helped contribute towards a greater sales ratio for each organisation.

From my placement, I have developed my digital, communication, organisational and teamwork skills as well as gain a strong willingness to learn new things. This allowed me to recognise the progression I have made as a individual, and how valuable the placement was to me. Also, my commercial awareness benefited, as I realised how important social media was to the integral success of a company.

I was given plenty of responsibility during my placement, as I was tasked with writing press releases for Fabulosa, undertaking lists of regional newspapers with the relevant contacts, social media posts, and following various home and competitor accounts on Instagram for Solution Fires.

From the moment I started my placement right until the end, I was always offered any support if required and I got guided on each task accurately, allowing me to gain a integral understanding.

Every morning I came in, I always felt very welcome and valued by the team. I was constantly involved in any team discussions, with there being a positive work ethic and atmosphere around the room. On my last day, the owner took us all out for lunch, which shows that the company culture is strong, and staff are very much appreciated.

I enjoyed the placement very much, as it gave me a really strong insight into the power and influence of social media on business success. As well, I got to gain a extremely beneficial understanding of various business clients such as Fabulosa, which enabled me to apply to my university work based learning portfolio, and use in the future working environment.
