About You
Lots of informal talks with the current professionals about their work life, career paths and advice for us as students
They did prepare a few things to say but they were flexible with the talk as they answered any questions we ask
There weren't much guidance needed as we did not have any task to complete
We did not learn in terms of programming or as a professional during the session, I have learnt more about the soft skills we need
The Company
They provided us an agenda and the background of people giving the talk, so I'd say it was fairly structured
It was friendly, informal and welcoming
We had some online skills test and video interviews, which helped us practice interview skills
They told us their typical day, the tasks they have worked on, training provided which are something I wanted to know before getting a job
The non essential, non work related things they introduced were interesting to learn. It shows that the people at the firm have interesting life and care about causes
I think exploring different roles within the industry was useful to figure out what I am interested
Everything Else
Yes
It was remote so obviously it was a little different, but the event itself made me feel valued and welcomed, and I felt like this way you get to talk with people in a more casual setting
