The Role
I really enjoyed it. The program was well organized and full of insightful activities alongside the actual work on the desk. Everyone was very available and willing to help and make us interns learn.
I tried to build a connection with my colleagues, to ask them questions and get work from them. The more this happened and the more I leaned throughout the internship the more I got recognition for my work. They recognized my value and willingness to learn so I was happy about that.
All the seniors were really supportive: from my buddy to my dean to desk reps and seniors at the desk.
I was typically quite busy talking on the phone to different people during the day which meant I worked on projects and games during the evening. I think it was a good balance as I could concentrate on my network and work at my own pace at other projects.
I mainly worked on projects and thought about ideas and scenarios. It is difficult to have actual trading responsibilities Or talking to clients in a sales role as an intern So I think it was a very good level of responsibility for the type of internship
I finished my degree but they will definitely be useful for my future career
