    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall I had a very good experience. Obviously there is room for improvement but I found my role very enjoyable. I was given a task to compete with a team and we were given freedom to choose what we did with it. There were times when the work was a bit boring and there was loads of admin to do but all roles are like this. I really feel like I was given the chance to shine.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleages really valued our input. Every time we said something it was listened too and taken into consideration. Space was always made for us to add out input and at times it was even sought after. Our time was also valued. Whenver anyone had a meeting with us they were normally on time or if they were late it was only by a couple of minutes and they were very apologetic. It was a very good environment to be in.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was amazing. He encouraged us to come to him with questions and always made sure we understood the work we were doing. He was friendly and approachable and did the best to help us succeed. Every morning he made space for us to ask him questions and if he didnt know the answer he would be honest with us about it and then go and research the answer for us. We couldn't have finished the project with out him.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was pleanty of work to do but we had to create it. With the freedom we had we had to decide and prioritise what we have to do. With this it meant that some days were busier than others and as we were getting towards the end of the project we were running out of things to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It was our own project and we all got to decide what we were doing.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It has deffinatly helped me. It is helping me choose my courses next year and it helped me see what areas we enjoy.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Even though the internship was virtual we did manage to get a sense of what the office would have been like. Everyone was relaxed and approachable.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I think it being virtual had some difficulties with this. Some of the events couldn't go ahead as planned and there were some technical difficulties.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt like I was really invested in. I was sent a laptop to work on and my pay didnt change despite the internship being online.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Working from home

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Social scene was hard with the internship being virtual but I did get along well with my colleagues.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was all online

    5/5
