    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the vacation scheme. I got a wide insight into the world of professional services and worked on many different clients. I learned a wide range of skills and will be able to put these to use going forward. I would highly recommend to those on my course to apply and try to gain insight.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • On every engagement I worked on, I was welcomed and valued extensively. All of my co-workers were happy to help with all work and this made me feel valued. I was consistently messaged to ensure that I knew exactly what I was doing and had plenty of work to be doing.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • On every engagement, all co-workers were very helpful and provided me with a great amount of guidance. Every piece of work was explained in detail and I never felt like I did not know what I was doing. If there were any problems, everyone was happy to explain and resolve the issue.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were a wide range of skills that were used and developed throughout the vacation scheme. General skills like communication and teamwork were used on a regular basis and developed. IT skills such as Excel were made much more efficient over the course of the internship. It helped me become more confident for the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured, from the induction in Windsor to the week to week jobs I was on. I was always aware of exactly where I needed to be and it was very easy to find out. I worked on a number of different clients and never felt the structure of the insight was an issue.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere overall was very enjoyable. Both those on the internship and those who work at PwC were very approachable and made the atmosphere very positive and helped me to enjoy my time. This was both in the teams that I worked in and in general in the office.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company went out of their way in order to help us with our personal training and development. We were given a 3 day induction dedicated to teaching us the basics of accounting and the program we were to use to do work upon. It was much appreciated and gave us a great insight.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight helped me to understand exactly it would be like to work at the firm on a full time basis as the work I was given was akin to what an associate would be doing. It was a great insight and now I feel like it would be an easier transition to a full time role.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped me to understand exactly it would be like to work at the firm and the company culture I would be entering into. This was both on client sites and in the office as its important to know how the culture differentiates between the office and a client site.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The general day to day content and work was vital in deciding whether this was the future career path that I wanted to pursue or not. The work I performed each day would be that of an associate therefore it was relevant in what I would be doing in the future.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid and reimbursed adequately for this experience. We were paid as if we were an employee of the company on the graduate scheme and any of the travelling we did outside the normal commute to work was reimbursed adequately. This process was very easy to do and greatly appreciated.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • The internship had ample opportunity to network with others both on the internship and those who work at PwC full time. It was a great opportunity to build relationships and get to know the people that I would be working with in the future. Everyone was very friendly which made it easy to network.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The internship had ample opportunity to network with others both on the internship and those who work at PwC full time. It was a great opportunity to build relationships and get to know the people that I would be working with in the future. Everyone was very friendly which made it easy to network.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There were a number of activities that were outlined in the initial induction however these were not relevant to interns as much as associates who would be joining on the graduate scheme. During the internship we were not made aware of any activities but this is not necessarily relevant to the internship itself.

    2/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight to friends. It was a fantastic insight into life in work and what it would be like as a graduate out of university. I gained fantastic experience and those who join the insight will gain valuable skills and relationships. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
