The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here during the 6 week internship in Tax at PwC. The 6 weeks fly by so I would recommend getting involved with work as soon as you can. The support you get from day 1 is reassuring, the whole team are their to support you. The induction at Windsor was a great way to network with potential future colleagues and also a perfect way to get settled into the firm.
The people really made my time here at PwC what it was. They made a great effort to make me feel welcome during my first week and made a conscious effort to include me in social events in and out of work. They really appreciated the work that I did for them which made me feel that my work was impactful. An amazing team!
I had weekly catch ups with my 'Career Coach' and 'Buddy' who would always be on hand for questions that I had and to check on my progression/personal development. I worked a lot with my buddy during the first week who helped me get to grips with the workings of the firm.
I consistently had work throughout the internship and became busier as the weeks progressed and I began to build rapport and trust with the team. They were great when it came to getting me involved with all the different aspects of Tax and the different subteams.
I was given a fair level of responsibility that would be expected of an intern. Being similar responsibility and work that a graduate would expect was a great first taste into life a graduate worker.
I study Accounting and Finance but without an emphasis on Tax. My time here learning about Tax has been very useful to learn new skills and knowledge that I don't learn at University. However, my knowledge in Accounting definitely helped!
The Company
I expected the office to be quiet and very formal however it was quite the opposite. All the colleagues are very relaxed and it definitely feels like a team effort. Everyone in the office is always moving around and working in different areas within the office. The office atmosphere is a great place to work in.
We had a lot of support before starting in regards to getting ready for the internship. The residential in Windsor was very well organised and all of the interns had such a great time because of this. My buddy and career coach were well prepared for when I arrived.
The firm invested a lot into my development in regards to training days and initial training.

PwC make it clear from day 1 that a graduate role is a possibility. This gave us the the motivation to work hard! It is such a great firm to work for and there are many opportunities and avenues for all!
The Culture
The social scene is amazing. I was invited to nearly all of the events that were available which was a great way to build relationships!!
I was living at my University accommodation so I was used to the costs. Everything in Manchester is relatively well priced.
The nightlife in Manchester is very good - there is something there for all! From Deansgate to the Northern Quarter to the Village!
There were plenty of social events outside of the office that were available to all! Drinks, escape room and meals to name a few!
