The Role
Really interesting - a great insight into what it'd be like as a graduate (I hope to return!). Developed a thorough (thorough as you can in 6 weeks) understanding of my Line of Service and what it actually entails.
People and the culture at PwC are great, it's definitely very structured as you get clear feedback (via the Snapshot system), Managers are always happy to schedule in meetings to discuss your performance, and the Gems system really actualises feeling valued!
My managers were very supportive, always willing to take the time out to explain things I didn't quite get the first time (which, as an intern, happened quite frequently in the beginning!). People are really approachable, and that makes getting support/guidance a whole lot easier.
If I were to put a number on it, probably 70:30 (Busy:Not Busy). Work comes in long stretches, but there can be stops and starts where you have little to do for a few days, and I took the time to focus on other things like networking and professional development (e.g. eLearns, attending internal events etc)
I had almost as much responsibility as some of the graduates - which was really nice, because you get a good feel for the level and depth of work you'll be doing.
I think they'll definitely be beneficial - 6 weeks is a short period of time - but I definitely enjoyed being able to test and develop some of the skills I feel I have already. Really enjoyed it!
The Company
One word - pleasant. PwC is a really nice place to work, the people are amazing and I honestly have nothing negative to say. It's really nice how everything's physically open plan and there's lots of different spaces for collaborative/individual working.
The coordinators did a great job - everything was clear, and they were always easily reachable in case of any queries. Very well structured!
As much as any graduate!

Hoping to return as a graduate!
