    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found my work placement challenging but loved the opportunities to travel to other countries and explore other cultures.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued as a member of the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Really good support and guidance with the option to tailor my experience to my development goals.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The work fluctuates some periods I was extremely busy and some had little to do.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given my own project to run with the support of a line manager in case of any misunderstandings.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It will definitely benefit me in the future. Especially when it comes to job interviews and being able to talk about past experiences and dealing with work place environment issues.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was lively. It was an amazing place to come into everyday and everyone was always so lovely and welcoming. Being able to feel part of a fun and lively team was a joy and made coming to the office much more enjoyable for myself and peers.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I think the overall placement was reasonably organised, however, it lacked a complete structure. My line manager was good at being able to set me tasks and goals throughout the year but hearing from other peers some people really didn't seem to have that structure and were asking for work on a regular basis.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given plenty of opportunities to develop my own abilities. The company runs a lot of training's throughout the year which anyone can sign up for. I went to quite a few and have developed my skills even further through going to these training run by our own internal colleagues.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I definitely would consider a role working for this company. I have applied for the graduate scheme and the colleague offers and progress that the company can give to your career is very appealing. I really would consider a role here even if it is in a field I wouldn't have normally considered before placement.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was over 70 placement students here so the social scene within the company was definitely good. However, I actually found myself enjoying a social side with more of the members of my colleagues within my team as we got on very well and they were always so welcoming to me.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was very expensive. When i first saw the salary for the role I was really impressed and I thought I would be living quite well. However, after moving down here I was barely able to enjoy myself and I found that most weekends I stayed in to save pennies for living.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was terrible, there is no nightlife what so ever where we live. The only social place that we can go is a local whetherspoons. If we want to go out to actually do some clubbing and dancing we'd have to pay to get a train into the centre of london.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really. There were some evenings when we were having leaving do's that we did things but other than that there was no real opportunity to go out with the teams. But all considered many people I work with have families to look after so understandable that there wasn't many outside activities.

    3/5
