The Role
I have enjoyed being able to see what it is like to work in a FMCG, i believe the level of exposure which you get really stands the placement aside from other placements. I have enjoyed the fact i haev been part of a small team, and able to see how my work has been used in the bigger picture
I am very fortunate to be in a small immediate team of two in which we get on really well, and my opinion is always highly regarded. In terms of the broader team i feel comfortable reaching out to them for advise or support allowing me to get a greater understanding of work and learn from the experiences of others
Regarding day to day activities, my manager was always willing to give feedback and advice as well as feeling comfortable with my decisions. when i felt i needed guidance it was there and the support with all areas of work and life were there including CV support as well as day to day work
it varied week on week, as depends on the status of a project as quite often i would be waiting for approvals or signatures for activity to go live which can take time. However, there was never a time when i was bored as there was always something i could be getting on with
Early on in my placement my manager went on a long period of AL which allowed me to demonstrate my capabilities. throughout my time the projects which i worked on were my sole responsibility using my manager as more of a support tool rather than the other way round.
I believe that the skills which i have developed will benefit be hugely when i finish university as the training which i have been offered has been of the highest standard allowing me to get an understanding of all areas of marketing and to learn about new technologies and whats to come in the world of marketing
The Company
The office has always been a happy place with everyone always being happy, i was fortunate to have a chatty team who enjoyed making sure everyone felt involved and was included.
I believe that the set up was good, at the start there were some issues with getting access to the relevant programmes however this got sorted out
we have recieved training across a variety of programs allowing us to understand what the whole process is
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I will be applying for the graduate role with JnJ as i believe that the program is a strong one and i have thoroughly enjoyed my time
The Culture
varied week on week,
Maidenhead is an expensive area to live in, and I chose to live closer to avoid the cost of petrol/commuting. there however, is easy access into london with out the as high cost of living
There's one club in maidenhead which isnt the best. Reading has alot going on as is a student area so spent alot of time there
Not that i was aware of
