    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Really overall amazing experience as we got to experience real-life work and see what working at the firm would be like if we were to get an offer to come back. Everyone was really helpful in explaining everything that they did in their work and models - though they were a bit busy, understandably.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone I talked to was eager to help me and let me follow them into their meetings and explain their deals, models, and context of the company they were working on. Overall really friendly and approachable people who seem very down to earth and not at all condescending when asking 'stupid' questions.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Good support from the buddy - but recruiting team was a bit absent. Was not a bit problem as it was a very short experience but I would have liked to heard from them every day and to have more of a social aspect to it to connect with fellow interns and recruiting.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Really helpful - people helped me with any questions I had and really went in-depth into their models and took me through step by step of what they did and why. This really helped develop my technical skills and understanding, which will definitely help me in the future in work and studies.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • There was not really a structure as we were following one 'buddy' and was very much dependent on their schedule and work. My buddy was a bit busy working on finishing up a project so I was a bit thrown in the deep to approach other people to shadow to interesting meetings and to investigate her work - but everyone was very helpful.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Really great atmosphere, everyone is down to earth and very patient and good listeners. It seems the firm is very social and everyone has good relationships with each other outside of a work-only relationship. Though they take their work seriously, they are not too serious in life and joke around as well.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was no company wide training of some sorts (due to time constraints probably) which was a pity and I definitely would have liked if it was longer. However, everyone personally helped to improve my understanding of their work and how to execute this work as well in the future.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It helped my understanding for sure, as I was shadowing real people and real work, instead of case studies in other spring weeks. This really shows how it would be like instead of being immersed only with the other interns in a classroom - so I thought this was really great.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Got to meet people and experience the overall atmosphere that was present in the whole building and floors. People were very friendly and willing to talk to you - I got to experience their interactions with each other as well which was good, as this cannot be a 'staged' conversation.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Content was really wonderful as I got exposure to many different deals and valuations that they were working on. I really understand what all goes on into this work and exactly what they do - this really helped me figure out that this is what I want in the future.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were paid more than adequately in my opinion - as it was only a 3 day shadowing experience and we were not even doing/contributing to their work. Very surprised we were paid, especially going through all that effort just for 3 days. Pay was quite good as well in my opinion.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • This was very much up to yourself - we met a buddy and the rest was up to you to approach people or be introduced to people by your buddy.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Same as before.

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Seems like they are all very social and hang out after work

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Really amazing experience.
