    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found the insight a truly enjoyable experience. Most of the people I met were senior members of the firm who were very busy at all times but nevertheless, they always found some time to answer my questions and help me. Everyone was very friendly, professional and welcoming. I found myself in the perfect environment to learn and become the professional I strive to be one day.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I only spent a few days at the firm and even though my level of expertise was nowhere near to the level of the more senior employees, they still involved me in some of their discussions and they treated me almost as if I was already a member of their team.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received all the guidance and support I could have asked for. Whenever I felt insecure about anything, there was always someone to offer me guidance and whenever I asked for help, I could always rely on someone to give me his/her support. I am confident that when I will be working at the firm, I will not have to worry about feeling lost because I will always be able to count on the others and I hope that one day I will be able to give something back by helping the less experienced within the firm.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I study Business and Economics and the information I received throughout my insight gave me a better understanding of how firms work in the real world. I am sure that I will be able to use what I saw at the firm to understand better the things we learn at university.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • During the insight, I have not felt bored or idle for one second, which clearly shows how well structured the insight was. I always had conference calls to attend, people to talk to or things to learn and I feel that every hour I spent at the firm was meaningful.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I found that the atmosphere was quiet which made it very easy to concentrate on individual work but at the same time everyone was very busy at all times which motivated me to be active. There were rooms or booths where employees could talk aloud or discuss some matters in private. I felt that everyone did their best not to bother anyone else but at the same time, everyone was ready to provide help if anyone needed it, which created a perfect work environment and a pleasant atmosphere.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have not started my professional training at the firm yet, but I understand that the first few years will be mostly about my professional training and development to become the professional the firm needs. To ensure that my knowledge and experience are on a level that satisfy the firm's needs, it will invest a lot of time and effort in my training and development for which I am grateful and I will do my best to live up to the firm's expectations.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • My insight consisted of work shadowing people at the firm. I saw how the more experienced members of the firm work but I have not yet seen what an average day of a trainee looks like. However, the tax professionals I shadowed explained to me what I could expect in my first years so I have an idea of how a full time role would be.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped me a lot in understanding the company culture. Even though 4 days is a short time, it was enough to see how the company culture is. Each day I saw how employees interacted with and treated each other. It was interesting to see how the values of the firm that I read about on the internet manifest themselves in the real working environment.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • What I experienced within the firm reassured me about tax being the area of business I would like to work in. I was able to see how an average day of a tax professional looks like, I got a better understanding of what skills he/needs and I concluded that I am on the right path.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Yes, I was paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience and I was perfectly satisfied with the amount I got paid. I understood that my full time payment plan will be slightly different but I am confident that my remuneration will always be in line with the value I add to the firm.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Throughout the insight, there were plenty of opportunities for networking and meeting with other employees of the firm. I met someone new almost every two hours and I spent enough time with everyone to talk about their role and life at PwC, about what I was doing there and about my future plans. We usually exchanged contact details and I met most of them several times during the insight.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking activities within the firm were very exciting and interesting. It is always nice to talk to likeminded individuals who are open and welcoming. I found that the employees of the firm came from very different backgrounds and it was interesting to find out how such different people ended up working together.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I only spent a few days at the firm and I was mostly concentrating on the activities taking place within the firm but I did get a few emails about leisure activities for the employees after work. If I remember correctly, one of the activities involved going on a small tour around the city centre.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would recommend this insight to everyone who feels curiosity about how a leading professional services firm works and to the ones who are eager to explore the limits of their capabilities and aspire to achieve great things in life. I am sure everyone would benefit from such valuable experience.
