    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my internship. PwC have given me the opportunity to work on a variety of clients in a variety of industries. I have been given a lot of responsibility within the audit of the clients which has been nice. PwC have provided good training and everyone I have worked with have been very helpful and supportive when needed.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have felt very valued by the people I have worked with. Everyone has given up time to answer my questions when and we have built really good relationships. When working on a client they have made sure the work I'm doing is important for them and for my own development whilst reassuring me they are grateful for the work I am doing.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My people manager was always there to help me when I asked and when I asked a question she didn't have the answer to she would go out of her way to find me some more information. When working on jobs my supervisors have been very good, making sure I am comfortable with the work I am doing and answering any questions I may have.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always given an adequate amount of work to do on a daily basis. I was never given too much so I didn't have to stress or struggle. If I finished the work set for me I would be found something else to do with the time I had left in the day.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given an adequate amount of responsibility. I was never left in a situation where I was struggling but was able to take responsibility for the work I was doing. I was treated the same as the associates and given the same amount of responsibility of work as them.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have really valued the skills I have developed. I have improved my communication and people skills whilst also developing my technical capabilities and business acumen. The training received was a good background for audit work in the future. I will be able to use the skills I've learned here in any job I go in to.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere was quite relaxed. Everyone seemed calm and the dress code was casual which brought a casual atmosphere into the office. Although people had deadlines they didn't act stressed and would always give up time to answer any questions or have a chat/catch up with you. Everyone was really welcoming and nice.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From before I arrived in the office they had my six weeks of work planned for me. For each audit I was on the supervisor made sure there was an adequate amount of work for me. When I had free time in my day someone was always able to find me some extra work to do.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • PwC made sure that we had all the training we needed and background knowledge to carry out the placement. The training was well structured and delivered. Throughout my placement I was given feedback for my own development on every job I worked on. Everyone was happy to give up time to provide feedback for me.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would happily return to PwC after my six week placement. The work was enjoyable and everyone I spoke to and/or worked with was lovely and very helpful. The clients we worked on were interesting and diverse. The training and development I was given was good from start to finish.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Outside of work I did not socialise much with other placement students due to already having plans. However, within the office we went out for lunch together and got along well. Upon arriving at the office we went out with current employees which was nice to socialise. We also had one staff night out with the office whilst I was here.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Due to being in a city with lots of students it was very affordable to live and socialise. There were a variety of shops close by which were cheap and affordable. Socialising is cheap as there are a lot of offers wherever you go and most places offer student discount in the city centre.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are a variety of bars, pubs and clubs to suit everyone. As well as all being close in the city centre, most are affordable and have good deals on. Almost every night there is something happening somewhere which makes the nights fun and interesting. A very good city for nightlife.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Due to being here a limited amount of time I did not have much opportunity to get involved in activities outside of work. There was an office end of month drinks which I was able to get involved with and go to. Apart from that there was not enough time to get involved in activities.
