  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had an interim and annual appraisal which was very useful for setting and measuring goals. Without asking I was provided with feedback on work, and senior management including Director/Partner took the time to sit down with me and explain situations. This was also provided across departments which was most pleasing.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Management of time and work has particularly since returning to University. The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Extremely motivating. I was positioned between two directors whom relied on me to complete tasks that were above my grade. Which was really motivating. There was also a good sense of reward when work was completed on an individual and group basis.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm put you through a lot of training at the start, completing two week long courses on Recovery and Reorganization at their dedicated training facility. There was then the opportunity to undertake just about any course that could aid your development and when a course was required i.e. I needed to understand legal documentation, the firm organized one. I was particularly impressed as I was a placement student. There were also several more compulsory courses. There were two weekly updates on our field.

  • The cost was particularly high as I lived with 5 minutes of my office, however I chose to do this so I could manage my triathlon training and maximize my time in work. The cost could easily be minimized my living out of the centre and using a student oyster card.
