    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I particularly loved the relaxed and friendly office atmosphere. Gaining career-focus was one of my aims in applying for the internship and I know now that this is the sector I want to work in.

  • I was always profusely thanked for my help in any situation and told I was a useful asset.

  • There were days when my mentor would be busy all day with meetings, but I was always left with things to do.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Varied day to day. Generally I would say I could have been slightly busier, but it was always interesting to learn by watching.

  • I would have liked a little more responsibility in terms of personal projects.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt invaluable professional skills and really increased my confidence as a colleague.

  • Friendly and relaxed.

  • The training elements were excellent and I felt supported throughout.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Training in CV writing and interview techniques. Really aware that we're all on the lookout for a job and increasing our employability was a priority.

  • I haven't got a job with them, but would love to apply in the future.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Part of a great group of interns who were always up for lunch and often for drinks after work.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive so unfortunately may not be for everyone, but once you have made the decision to go there you have to make the most of the experience.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Angel has lots of restaurants, bars and pubs - have to go elsewhere for clubs but there's plenty to do.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of fundraising activity and events to volunteer at. Zumba and yoga classes were offered at a reduced rate and there are lots of clubs, but you have to seek these out.
